IICRC-Certified Trauma Clean Up Specialist (Ronald):

Industry Gold Standard - IICRC certification in trauma and crime scene cleanup
-
OSHA Compliance - Proper decontamination protocols and safety standards
-
Field Operations - Expert management of all cleanup, restoration, and disposal
-

We don't just clean—we care for both the scene and the people affected by it.
Family-Owned Cleanup With Compassion, Experience, and Accountability
Great Lakes Biorecovery is a family-owned, independent cleanup company led by Ron and Samantha, a husband-and-wife team with deep experience supporting people during difficult and overwhelming situations.
We founded Great Lakes Biorecovery to provide a more personal, compassionate alternative to large franchise cleanup companies. When someone contacts us, they speak directly with real people who understand the urgency, sensitivity, and responsibility involved in this work.
Our mission is simple: restore safety, reduce stress, and help people move forward during times of need.

When we’re not working, we enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring nature with our two golden retrievers, Clifton and Ryker; a reminder of why safe, healthy spaces matter.

Ron and Samantha Rouette
“Helping people feel safe again — especially when life feels out of control — is at the heart of everything we do.”
— Ron & Samantha, Owners
Samantha Rouette, LCSW
Samantha brings a unique perspective to Great Lakes Biorecovery through her background as a licensed clinical social worker and therapist specializing in trauma and hoarding-related disorders. In her private practice, she works closely with individuals navigating loss, overwhelming situations, and environments that have become unsafe or unmanageable.
This experience directly shapes how Great Lakes Biorecovery approaches every call; with empathy, calm communication, and respect. Sam helps clients understand next steps, coordinates logistics, and ensures the process feels clear and supportive rather than confusing or rushed.
Her role helps reduce the emotional burden that often accompanies situations requiring professional cleanup.
Ron Rouette
Ron brings hands-on experience to Great Lakes Biorecovery through his background in the trades and the restoration field, where he has worked for over eight years. As an IICRC-certified restoration professional, he understands the technical requirements involved in properly cleaning, restoring, and preparing spaces for safe re-entry.
His experience shapes how Great Lakes Biorecovery approaches every job — with precision, attention to detail, and strict adherence to professional standards. Ron oversees field operations and ensures each cleanup is handled correctly, discreetly, and with care.
His role helps ensure that every space is restored responsibly and that each client receives reliable, professional service they can trust.
Experience Behind the Scenes
In addition to operating Great Lakes Biorecovery, we also own a company Rykton Restoration Consultants that provides billing, estimating, and backend operational support for other restoration and professional cleanup companies.
This experience gives us a deep understanding of:
-
Proper documentation
-
Insurance workflows
-
Industry standards and expectations
It allows us to approach each job with clarity, organization, and professionalism, helping ensure the process runs smoothly from start to finish.
